Liz Blacklock
Liz has a long and distinguished career in healthcare, working as a Registered Nurse within the NHS. Her experience spans various areas, including surgical care, palliative care and community nursing. In her final NHS role, she served as a Practice Nurse, providing essential primary care services.
Driven by a desire for high-quality care, Liz ventured into entrepreneurship in 2015. She opened a domiciliary care service in Hampshire that has since garnered awards. This service emphasises ethical practices and high standards, ensuring clients receive excellent care in the comfort of their homes, offering peace of mind to families.
Liz's commitment extends beyond her own business. Since 2021, she has volunteered as the CEO of the National Association of Care and Support Workers (NACAS). Leading the team, NACAS and IHSCM launched a valuable initiative – a Voluntary Care Professional Register. With approaching ( at time of writing) 250 registrants and backing from healthcare leaders, this initiative is playing a key role in professionalising the care sector.
Liz remains a strong advocate for social care, working to elevate its image and establish it as a respected career choice, on equal footing with other healthcare professions
