Tariq found his passion for the Charity Sector after studying Law and gaining experience through volunteering in Pakistan and England since 2008. He supported health, disaster relief and technology based projects and has been part of several pioneering programmes focusing on community outreach through technology.

In his current role, Tariq is Executive Director of CareTech Foundation, the leading independent grant-making charity in the UK social care sector. He came into this role after five years as Foundation Manager, managing a portfolio of national and international partnerships that lead in areas of innovation, upskilling and employability with partners that include Barnardo’s, Alzheimer’s Society, The King’s Trust, National Theatre. He previously worked on community-focused events in Milton Keynes, as a part of Art in the Park, African Diaspora Day and Great Get-Together Iftar. He is a strong believer in celebrating unity and diversity through joint activity.
