Jill Mason is one of the UK’s leading legal voices in the care sector, with a particular focus on supporting care home providers through the complex legal landscape.

As Partner and Head of Health & Care at Mills & Reeve, Jill leads a national team advising care homes on everything from safeguarding and CQC compliance to mental capacity, deprivation of liberty, and inquests.

With nearly three decades of experience, Jill is known for her practical, compassionate approach to helping clients navigate challenges while maintaining high standards of care. She regularly advises on the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and NHS Continuing Healthcare, and has played a key role in supporting clients through public inquiries.  Her work is consistently recognised by Legal 500 and Chambers, where she is described as “tenacious, expert, and deeply insightful.”

Jill’s wider sector team brings together over 200 legal specialists across employment, real estate, corporate, and commercial law—ensuring care home operators receive holistic, sector-specific advice.
