What makes someone choose a job in care and what happens between accepting the offer and deciding whether to stay?

This interactive session follows the care worker journey, exploring the moments that shape people’s experience of work: recruitment, induction, the working day, pay, support and opportunities to progress.

Jane Brightman will bring together a care worker and contributors with different workforce perspectives to discuss how pay, working conditions, supervision, learning and technology fit together. The session will include an update on England’s developing Fair Pay Agreement, alongside practical questions about what managers can influence now and where wider organisational change is needed.

Through real-life experiences, audience contributions and shared scenarios, delegates will identify one part of their own worker journey they could improve.
